Under a starry night Mr World 2007 contestants took to the stage to show their talents to a mesmerized audience, which included the Mayor of Sanya and other Chinese dignitaries, Mrs Julia Morley, Chairman of the Miss World Organisation, and other contestants. First to take up the baton and get the party going was Curacao, who wowed the audience with his energetic hip hop moves. Several dancers followed him during the show, including Costa Rica, Venezuela, Chile, Sri Lanka, Panama, Nigeria, Barbados, and Kenya. Many styles were represented, including meringue, jive, traditional tribal dance, and salsa. Songs from across the world featured in the show, with calypso from Barbados and folk songs from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Vietnam and Kenya. Guitar rocker Austria impressed the crowd with his own work, while Italy charmed the females in the audience with his emotive version of the classic Volare. There were also other, more unusual acts. Egypt surprised the audience with a caricature drawing of Kenya, Spain fascinated with his sommelier performance, Brazil demonstrated his martial arts skills on Venezuela, and China introduced the crowd to the universal sign language to music. Bahamas arguably provided the most colourful entertainment with his energizing traditional folk dance, complete with tribal mask. |
