MR WORLD TALENT FINAL
1st KOREA 2nd BELGIUM 3rd RUSSIA The Ballroom at the Hilton in Gyeongju was full of Mr World contestants, dignitaries and honorary guests on Thursday evening as performers from 20 countries around the world took part in the Mr World Talent Final. The Mayor of Gyeongju opened proceedings with an address. This was followed by Miss World and Miss Korea taking the stage as special guest judges for the evening. Then to the surprise of seated guests there was an amazing performance by the Tae Kwon Doe national demonstration team. It was an exceptional illustration of the strength and grace needed to compete in the sport with some death defying moves that got the crowd onto their feet. The main event then began with some great performances, including a warrior dance from Kazakhstan, a singing performance from Korea, a piano recital from Belgium, a graceful fitness and samurai routine from Russia, a beautifully choreographed slow-motion dance from Kenya and a mesmerizing magic show from Venezuela. Before the finalists were announced, the audience were treated to a special Korean fashion show. Miss Koreas from the past years modelled beautiful Hanbok’s, traditional Korean dresses. The compare then took to the stage with results in hand. Third place was RUSSIA, with his superb dance. Second was Belgium with sublime piano playing. But, the night belonged to KOREA. His fantastic solo singing performance of the song ‘Just Once’ made him the deserved Mr World Talent Champion. KOREA was ecstatic and he jumped up off the stage punching the air in delight. The music started playing and he sang the song one more time, but this time, all the Mr World contestants joined in the celebrations by coming onto the stage. He was also congratulated by Miss World and Miss Korea who presented him with the accolade. After he finished he spoke and was very modest and humble about his performance, which left a lasting impression on those who witnessed it. The rest of the top six were announced as South Africa, Kenya and Venezuela in no particular order. Congratulations! |
