Celebrations planned for the heroic return of India’s first Mr World
Mr World will make his triumphant to return to India this weekend, with celebrations planned in the west coast megacity of Mumbai from Saturday morning, including a public meet and greet and reception with government officials.
Flying in to Mumbai International Airport, friends, fans and media alike will all get the chance to welcome Rohit home with a huge public welcome reception planned for approximately 11am on Saturday 23rd July. Everyone is welcome to come and show their support for Mr world!
Speaking ahead of tonight’s flight, Rohit said “I am really excited to get back home and breath the fresh air of my country! My parents are also going to be there waiting to see me. I think my entire family and friends are coming to the airport to receive me!”
When asked about what kind of reception he expects from fans and fellow Indians, Rohit responded “I have been receiving lot of messages and greetings for the achievement ever since I won. It has been incredible, especially as I am the first Indian, first Asian to win Mr World! My Instagram followers have increased from 30 thousand to 100 thousand in just 2 days!”
Rohit will also travel to longstanding charity partner Muktangan School, where he will share his victory with the children and teachers of the institute, before returning to the city for a series of interviews with the media in the afternoon.

After a round of TV and Radio slots on Sunday, including with Zoom TV, Radio Mirchi and Times of India, Mr World will be the guest of honour at a huge party to celebrate his homecoming in style, with dignitaries and celebrities from all over India will be there to congratulate Rohit on his achievements.
Monday will see Rohit officially recognised by government representatives for the honour he has brought to India with his historic victory.
Asked what he has missed most since travelling to the UK, Rohit responded immediately.” I miss my conversations with my grandmother and family. My grandmother is my best friend, and she is my closest friend!. I also miss home food a lot!”
