Mr World Diary: - 2nd Day in Hyderabad
Words by Mr World 2016 – Rohit Khandelwal
Hello to everybody reading, this is Rohit speaking from the comfort of my home here in Hyderabad. After a non-stop schedule this past week, it was nice to wake up to the familiar sounds and sights of my home town.
I began my day with a sunrise work out, lifting some weights before jogging around this beautiful place called the Necklace road. It’s a path that runs along the sea shore with breath-taking views of the sea. A beautiful way to start a day where I had no official engagements, my first real day fo since winning the Mr World title, such bliss!
Post workout I was driving around the roads of my city, Hyderabad, in my Jeep. I love driving and I love my jeep, and It was nice to have the time to travel familiar roads, and see familiar people, reconnecting with my old life.
I then visited this beautiful palace in Hyderabad called the Taj Falaknuma Palace. Built 200 years ago, it was the resident of the royal families of Hyderabad. Later it was being used by the top dignitaries of the country as a guest house and now it has been converted to a 5-star hotel. I met with some friends and we had some lunch. Post lunch we headed towards Chairminar which is an ancient monument in Hyderabad and is also the most recognised monument in India.
I am looking forward to this evening with relish though, as I have the entire night with my closest family and friends, a night which has been a longtime coming, a week infact! Some quality time with people who mean the most to me is something I have looked forward to more and more each day.
Winning Mr World has already been a life changing experience, and the future is exciting and unknown for now, but tonight, for a short while, everyone will just be calling me Rohit.
