Mr World 2014: Talent Competition

Last night an epic show was put on by an array of Mr World contestants for the Talent Competition. Not only did we see the finalists perform their individual routines, but we saw a medley performance by a selection of other contestants who did not make it past the audition stages.

With a packed house, four contestants, Curacao, England, Netherlands and Ukraine were selected to go on to the Mr World final and battle it out live to see who will be announced the talent winner and take their place in the top 10.

Tonight the pressure was really on, taking their performance out of the audition hall onto the stage under the bright lights, and gaze of not only a full audience, but the full judging panel.

Previously only a core set of entertainment professionals had been judging the performances, but now an array of judges took their seats and turned their attention onto our 15 hopefuls. Joining our Musical Director Mike Dixon, Stylist Andrew Minarik and Choreographer Donna Derby was Miss World Organisation Chairman Julia Morley, Miss World 1981 Pilin Leon, Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu, and reigning Miss Oceania World Erin Holland.

Hosting tonight's show was Miss World Megan Young and Frankie Cena, winner of the previous Mr World's Talent competition. Together they will also be hosting the Mr World 2014 final later this week.

After the 15 performances, the medley performers took to the stage. To see pictures from EVERY performance, head over to our Facebook page for the full album HERE

Then it was time for the judges to make their decisions. The 15 was initially cut to 8, before eventually 4 were chosen to perform at the Mr World Final.

Those 8 were Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Bahamas, Ghana, Netherlands and England.

With so many strong singers in this year’s competition, it was with real difficulty that the judges decided upon only 2 to see it through to the final show. Curaçao’s rendition of Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross and England’s interpretation of Bill Withers’ Ain’t No Sunshine saw them both move onto the next round.

The unorthodox Charlie Chaplain performance by Ukraine charmed audience and judges alike, and it was this convincing and well thought out act which sees him take his place in the final 4.

Netherlands’ well-choreographed dance routine, part ballet, part gymnastics, all dance, along to Passenger’s Let Her Go.

It was truly a fantastic show, worthy of any stage, and we can’t wait to see who goes on to lift the Talent trophy on Sunday!

You can join us LIVE from 14:00 BST (GMT+1) on Sunday 15th June at our YouTube Channel to watch the action unfold for yourself!!

Keep Watching!
