Mr World Vietnam 2024, Tuan Ngoc Pham was delighted to get the opportunity to visit the children of the Danang Social Protection Centre, whilst on a Business trip to Central Vietnam. The Danang City Social Welfare Centre was established in 2007 to help beggars, homeless, and sick elderly people who roamed the Da Nang City streets, desperate for food, shelter, and healthcare.

The Welfare Centre houses over 150 residents which include orphans, disabled children, people with Hansen’s disease, and the elderly.

Tuan visited the Danang Social Protection Section, which is home to over 40 vulnerable, orphaned children, some of whom have been battling illnesses from a young age. He says “Thankfully, the children receive very attentive and warm care from the dedicated staff here.”

In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Tuan gave the children gifts to add a touch of joy and warmth. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a harvest festival celebrated in Far Eastern cultures. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October. The Festival falls on September 17 of the year 2024. It is one of the most important holidays in Far Eastern cultures, with its history dating back over 3,000 years. During the festival, lanterns of all shapes and sizes are carried and displayed to symbolize beacons that light the path to prosperity and good fortune.
